True Love......Or just a helping hand..this one is funny!
Z-Rockers
On my lunch break a few days ago, I went to my usual fast food food place, and while waiting in the drive through (which is always incredible backed-up) I noticed that a couple well up in to their 80's had pulled in and parked. The older man got out and waited patiently on he's wife to come around the back side of their van. There he reach his hand out and took hers. (My heart just melted, they still held hands, true love does still exist!) They walked particularly slow, (either due to old age or just due to the simple fact that they had rushed their whole lives and now had decided to slow down) "I'm betting on the first one"............Anyways I observed the two making their way through the parking lot and as they passed in front of my car I couldn't help but roll down my window and ask, "excuse me, but may I ask how long you two have been married?" The old lady shouted back "60 years.....Why you asking?" I said in my most kind voice "Because you're still holding hands and I find that incredibly romantic." then to my dismay the old man yelled back at me, "I ain't holding her hand honey, she can't see a thing and if I don't lead her she'll fall or hit something for sure!"
What! I thought to my self as I quickly rolled my window back up so he wouldn't see me bust out in laughter. So much for true love and romance, he wasn't holding her hand he was LEADING HER! While, I found the whole situation incredibly funny, I felt a little disappointed I wanted to believe they were just so in love that they HAD to hold hands and show the world!
Later on while driving home from work I got to thinking about the old man and woman. They WERE still in love. That was the whole reason he was holding her hand (ok....ok.....So he was leading her) but still he was doing it out of love! He didn't want her to fall, she depended on him, and he was there to guide her, so in a round and about way, it was true love, otherwise he would have let her run smack dab in to one of the many, many cars in the restraunt parking lot.
The bottom line is true love and romance is still alive and well, its not always expressed with kisses, hugs, or even holding hands, sometimes its shown by just simply making sure you spouse doesn't fall....(literally)

I hope that when we are that far down the road, my fiance and I are still holding hands. I love her to pieces.
